About MARO

The Macedonian Association of Radiotherapy and Oncology – MARO, which operates under the Macedonian Medical Association, has been uniting professionals in the field of radiotherapy and oncology for more than a decade. The association has 42 members, including specialists and trainees in radiotherapy and oncology, medical and nuclear physics and pathology. Our main mission is to advance oncology care through education, scientific work and professional cooperation. We organize professional meetings, symposia and workshops for continuous medical education and exchange of experiences. Our priorities are multidisciplinary decision-making, precision oncology, modern radiotherapy and new systemic therapies. We advocate for equal and timely access of patients to modern diagnostics and evidence-based treatment. We pay special attention to the professional development of young oncologists and to regional and international cooperation. Our most significant upcoming project is the I Congress of MARO, which will be held from 26 to 28 November 2026 in Skopje, after which we will continue with new scientific, educational and research initiatives.
